The Role
FreshDirect is seeking a Training Manager to lead our Learning and Development team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Training Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing training programs across the organization, ensuring a consistent and effective learning experience for employees. This role supports the development and delivery of training initiatives that drive performance, safety, and employee engagement. The Training Manager also play a key role in continuously improving training processes to enhance overall effectiveness and retention. This position will be responsible for incorporating key principles of training programs to effectively design and implement consistent training materials aligning with the organizational goals, principles and values.
What You’ll Do
· Design and lead a structured onboarding program combining classroom and on-the-floor training for roles such as production operators, pickers, and packers.
· Ensure all new hires are effectively trained on safety, quality, and performance standards.
· Partner with HR and operations teams to deliver a seamless and engaging onboarding experience.
· Build, update and continuously improve training programs
· Collaborate closely with department managers to ensure readiness for new hires (PPE, workstations, materials, etc.)
· Monitor training effectiveness through observations, feedback, and performance data.
· Track new hire progress, retention, and productivity metrics.
· Facilitate onboarding experiences that reinforce FreshDirect’s values and culture.
· Lead sessions such as orientations, site tours, and new hire welcome experience.
What You’ll Bring
· Bachelor’s degree
· Minimum 5 years of Learning and Development experience
· Experience designing and delivering training, and evaluating its effectiveness
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including strength in using Excel and PowerPoint
· Strong analytical, negotiating, influencing, communication, and organization skills
· Ability to build credibility with internal and external clients
· Problem solving skills – ability to develop solutions
· Strong organizational skills
· Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture

$110,000 – $115,000
