- Attending professional and Region 5 Training Association meetings as a non-voting member.
- Maintaining a professional demeanor when representing the program and LESD.

- Valid TSPC CTE license and/or eligibility to acquire one
- Associate's degree or equivalent in Emergency Medical Technology, Fire Science, or a related field.
- Must meet entry-level officer education requirements.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible fire service experience with emphasis on training, safety, and instructional practices.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
- Valid Oregon Driver's License (or ability to obtain and maintain).
- Oregon Health Division EMT certification (current or held within the past year).
- NFPA Instructor I certification.
- HAZMAT Operations certification.
- Incident Safety Officer certification.
- ICS: 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 701, 702, 703, 800; NIMS 100�400.
- Wildland Firefighter Type I and II.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
- Knowledge of emergency medical principles, fire behavior, suppression tactics, hazardous materials, NIMS/ICS, and applicable LESD/Region 5 policies.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
The Emergency Services Training Coordinator/Instructor provides instruction and program coordination for students in the Lane County Emergency Services Pathway (ESP) Program at the Lane Career Academy. Working in collaboration with the CTE Regional Coordinator/CTE Specialist, this position supports LESD's regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives in partnership with school districts, non-profits, and industry partners.
Responsibilities include delivering online instruction Monday�Thursday mornings and coordinating approximately 10 hands-on skill days throughout the school year. Training includes EMR, FF1, Wildland, Hazmat, NIMS, and ICS, aligned with established curriculum. This position ensures students gain the knowledge, practical skills, and experience necessary to pursue careers in emergency services while fostering collaboration across Region 5 districts and local agencies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position requires minimal to moderate physical exertion. The employee is normally standing, walking, or sitting as required. Occasionally, the employee may lift or carry materials/supplies up to 20 lbs when transitioning between work sites. May be required to lift, bend, support, or assist students whose handicapping condition or behavior requires adult support or intervention.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is an itinerant position requiring travel between multiple work sites. Generally, work is performed indoors in a clean, non-hazardous environment, though some activities may occur in community or off-site settings. The employee may occasionally be exposed to bodily fluids due to student injury, illness, or behavior. The employee may encounter inclement weather when moving between locations.
