KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE:
Role Overview:
The Mens External Brands Buyer is responsible for curating and managing a portfolio of premium and luxury brands to drive sales, profitability and brand positioning. This role requires a strong commercial mindset, deep understanding of luxury consumer behaviour and brands and the ability to identify emerging trends while maintaining commerciality.
Buying and Product Selection:
- To work closely with the Senior Buyer to develop and execute seasonal buying strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Select and curate collections from luxury brands for key department stores.
- Actively investigate and propose new product opportunities within the relevant branded market to ensure sales are optimised and brand development is continuous.
- Collaborate with brands on special projects, capsules and launches.
Product Performance:
- Manage a comprehensive and accurate delivery schedule, that meets and supports the needs of the business and liaise with direct line of report regarding any late deliveries, cancellations or negotiating suitable discounts.
- Attend weekly meetings with the Senior Buyer and Senior Merchandiser to review performance of the department and to discuss and agree an action plan regarding sales, margins, stock levels and delivery status.
- Work closely with Retail teams to ensure we are reacting to external factors and sales trends whilst meeting customer demand in key UK cities.
- Help to identify opportunities for sales growth and risk mitigation ensuring in-season trading issues are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
Managerial Support
- Support in the daily and weekly management of the Mens Buying Team.
- Supporting on and providing all market prep alongside the Senior Buyers Assistant for the Senior Buyer ahead of each buying appointment.
- Deal with the administration and monitor and respond to such correspondence when necessary.
- Support the Senior Buyer in preparation for seasonal reviews, budget and strategy planning for the forthcoming seasons.
Managerial support
- Proven Junior Buyer or Buyer experience necessary
- Background in branded footwear buying is preferred
- Very organised with strong analytical skills
- Personable with excellent communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of brands, products and trends
- Advanced Microsoft Excel user
