The Brazer is responsible for joining Copper components using brazing techniques to produce high-quality assemblies that meet engineering and production standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, steady hand-eye coordination, and the ability to follow detailed work instructions and safety guidelines.
Primary Duties:
Join Copper/Brass components using approved brazing methods (torch, induction, or furnace).
Prepare parts by cleaning, aligning, and securing components prior to brazing.
Select appropriate filler metals, flux, and tooling based on job specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
Inspect brazed joints for quality, proper penetration, and structural integrity.
Identify and report defects, material issues, or deviations from specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on brazing equipment and tools.
Maintain accurate records of production activities and materials used.
Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Support continuous improvement by participating in 5S, Lean, and quality initiatives.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior brazing, welding, soldering, or metal-joining experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing work instructions.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong manual dexterity and hand–eye coordination.
- Basic understanding of metallurgy and heating processes.
- Ability to use measurement tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers).
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Solid understanding of workplace safety practices.
