The Lab Testing Tech position is responsible for performing laboratory testing in Chemistry and limited microbiology testing. The position will also function as a generalist with various bodily fluids and samples, performing moderate complexity testing. Maintains and documents QC processes. Operates and maintains instruments per manufacturer's recommendations. Performs other duties as assigned. 



 



Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and Associate's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution OR Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an 

Accredited institution:(preferred)



AND 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses ; or 24 semester hours of science courses that include 

                             6 semester hours of chemistry 

                            6 semester hours of biology 

                           12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any  

                          Combination                 

AND

Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES or CAAHEP


 



OR

At least 3 months of documented laboratory training in each specialty performing high complexity testing to be completed within the first 3 months of employment.



 



Preferred: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Associations of Bioanalysis) or equivalent.
