Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Qualifications:

• Serves as a role model and witness to our faith community.

• Experiences in teaching literacy skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening).  
• Plans and presents engaging lessons aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English.
• Experiences and abilities to plan and teach a wide range of English courses.
• Integrates technology in classroom teaching.
• Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Provides academic interventions to at-risk learners.
• Exhibits strong classroom management skills and collaboration skills.
• Revises curriculum and aligns curriculum to Professional Learning Standards.
• Utilizes a variety of authentic assessment strategies.

Professional Credentials:

• State of Illinois Teaching License (Required)
• High School English Teaching Endorsement (Required)
• High School Classroom Teaching Experience (Preferred)

Certifications and Requirements (May be completed after hire): 

• DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate
• Illinois Sexual Harassment Training Certificate
• Diocese of Joliet Protecting God's Children
• Diocese of Joliet Fingerprinting & Background Check
• Work Physical/Statement of Health from Physician

Salary Range Starting Salary Range: $42,760-$47,763 (Step 1); Based on experience and education

• **Final salary will be determined by relevant teaching experience and relevant education**
