Description

The HR Generalist will work closely with the HR Manager and team communicate out information and workflow.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review applications/resumes, evaluate applicant skills and make recommendations regarding applicant qualifications
  • Responsible for the onboarding of new hires from start to finish
  • Maintain employee files in accordance to Federal Labor and DOT regulations
  • Enter new hires; termination information into the computer for all employees;
  • Advise managers, supervisors and employees on human resource policies;
  • Assist departments with personnel related inquiries, advise and assist on current departmental HR procedures related to employee records, coordinate activities and acts as liaison between departments and general staff
  • Perform a variety of responsible office support work such as composing confidential correspondence and resolutions; preparation of spreadsheets and data entry;
  • Maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Responsible for all DOT compliance and maintaining various systems/programs
  • Manage workman's comp claims
  • Manage GL accident reports
  • FMLA 

 

Position Requirements

  • Highly-organized with a detail-oriented mindset
  • Industry (construction/trucking) experience preferred
  • Effective communication is key
  • Must be positive, friendly and professional
  • Ability to stay calm and be flexible in any situation
  • Willingness to roll up his/her sleeves and take on additional tasks and responsibilities as they arise
  • Exhibit excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize various tasks
  • Spanish speaker perfereed 

 

Formal Education & Certification

  • Able to summarize actions and communicate information to managers and team
  • Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
  • Able to perform duties independently
  • Able to follow through and complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner

Work Conditions

  • May require availability for overtime hours
