Peer Specialist � Behavioral Health Services

Full-Time | East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) � Barrington, RI

About the Role

Join our growing Behavioral Health Services Division as a Peer Specialist on the Integrated Health Home team. In this vital role, you'll use your personal recovery experience and professional training to support clients on their recovery journey, helping them make meaningful and lasting lifestyle changes. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll empower clients through advocacy, mentorship, and strength-based support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model for clients within a Health Home treatment environment
  • Coach clients in recognizing strengths and developing healthy coping strategies
  • Provide mentoring to promote self-sufficiency and sustained recovery
  • Deliver peer support services in-office, in the community, and in clients� homes
  • Document all client encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) within 48 hours
  • Meet productivity standards

Schedule

  • Standard hours: Monday�Friday, 8:00 AM � 4:30 PM

Required Qualifications

  • Rhode Island State Certification as a Peer Specialist or Wellness Coach
  • Valid driver�s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation with insurance (travel required)
  • Lived experience with recovery and a willingness to share insights appropriately
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
