Controls Engineer – O&M – TN Project (Memphis, TN)

Overview
Prismecs is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer – O&M to support operations and maintenance of control, electrical, and instrumentation systems at a mobile power generation project in Memphis, TN.
? Only candidates currently based in the United States and authorized to work without sponsorship will be considered.
This role ensures that all control systems, protection systems, and instrumentation meet OEM standards and operational requirements while maintaining high availability of plant assets.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
• Execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on control and instrumentation systems
• Operate and monitor SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems during assigned shifts
• Investigate protection trips, faults, and system abnormalities
• Perform diagnostics, testing, and inspections of electrical and control systems
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and maintenance records
Technical Support & Engineering
• Ensure all control systems meet OEM specifications and performance targets
• Perform relay settings, fault analysis, and load flow studies
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for system failures
• Review and validate control system documentation
• Support Plant Manager with engineering deliverables and system reliability
Coordination & Compliance
• Work closely with HSE teams and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime
• Support inventory and spare parts management
• Mentor and support technicians and plant personnel
Requirements
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Control, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in power plant control systems
• Hands-on experience with:
- PLC / SCADA / HMI systems
- Protection relays and instrumentation
- MV/LV electrical systems
• Experience with ABB, ComAp, or DEIF control systems
• Experience with power system tools (ETAP, SKM, EazyPower, CYME)
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Experience with RCA and technical reporting
Preferred:
• Experience with TM2500 or Cummins QSK60 systems
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, etc.)
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, ANSI standards
• Experience in mobile or temporary power projects
