SMT SET UP


Onsite – Morgan, Hill CA


Schedule: Swing Shift (3:30PM-12AM)
Full-Time | Non-Exempt

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about precision manufacturing? As an SMT Setup Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring production readiness by preparing and verifying SMT setups that directly impact product quality and efficiency.

How Will You Make an Impact?



  • Prepare daily kits for production and process incoming parts from the stockroom

  • Pull kits and components from stockroom and SMT Kanban (SKB) as needed

  • Read, understand, and follow SMT setup procedures and Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI)

  • Identify correct setup requirements, including table, feeder size, tape size, feeder position, and table location

  • Perform new job setups by:

    • Sorting parts in sequencs 

    • Testing feeders

    • Recording part numbers

    • Installing parts onto feeders



  • Verify setup accuracy, including: 

    • Assembly and revision levels

    • Component values and markings

    • Pickup angle and position

    • Quantity verification



  • Break down setups after production; clean and return materials to SKB and stockroom

  • Print and maintain required documentation (SMT, SMTQA MPI, AVL) for each job

  • Track setup data using SMT touchscreen systems

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, feeders, and work areas

  • Receive, verify, store, and organize parts within SKB

  • Report discrepancies or issues to the Supervisor or Support Engineer


What You Bring



  • High school diploma or equivalent experience

  • Experience in mechanical assembly or use of basic hand tools

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment

  • Familiarity with workplace safety standards

  • 1–3 months of related experience and/or training preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, and correspondence\

  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and working with fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork mindset

  • Flexibility to work extended hours based on business needs


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs

  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift

Salary range: $21/HR– $24/HR
