Montana State Hospital (MSH) is the only public psychiatric hospital I Montana and is eager to build an environment of dedicated and energetic PRN Registered Nurses. A Registered Nurse (RN) at Montana State Hospital provides care and support to clients within the framework of a therapeutic environment. This position performs nursing assessment, planning, interventions, and evaluations for adult clients with serious mental illness in the facility. Responsibilities include assigning work and providing direction and training to subordinate nursing personnel. The schedule for this position is variable on an as-needed basis but will still be expected to complete the on-site MSH Orientation.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Knowledge of nursing, medications, treatment planning and patient’s rights regarding medical treatment.
Ability to provide patient assessment and appropriate documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Must contain an unencumbered Associate or Bachelor degree from an accredited nursing college or university.
Must be currently licensed or able to be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Montana prior to the first day of work.
Preferred experience working with psychiatric inpatient treatment programs.
