ABOUT THE ROLE
The Financial Analyst supports the Finance team in financial operations, reporting, and analysis while developing technological proficiency to enhance process efficiency. This role combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with data analytics and process improvement initiatives, serving as a key contributor to financial reporting, budgeting, and operational excellence.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations & Reporting
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including verification, reconciliation, and recording of transactions in Microsoft Dynamics.
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Support month-end and quarterly closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for revenue and expense accounts.
Maintain accurate records for revenue recognition across multiple business segments.
Financial Analysis & Performance Monitoring
Prepare daily and weekly sales KPI reports for individual business units and segments.
Conduct variance analysis comparing actuals to budget, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
Support cash flow forecasting with regular updates and analysis.
Analyze expense trends against assigned budgets and recommend cost optimization strategies.
Assist in financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Technology & Process Enhancement
Leverage intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, Power Query) to enhance data processing and reporting efficiency.
Develop and maintain automated reports and dashboards to streamline financial operations.
Utilize Power BI or similar tools to create data visualizations for management reporting.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA in progress preferred.
2–4 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
