We’re seeking a flexible and action-oriented engineer to support modeling and simulation tools to support performance requirements analysis over a variety of complex mission architectures in the space, air, and ground domains.
Mission Engineering is part of the Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit. ESA comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. What You’ll Do:
- You will be part of a team of mission systems analysts that work collaboratively to characterize the mission performance of complex systems architectures, using a custom-built tool-suite. Your systems analysis results will guide and/or set architecture, system and/or component requirements.
- You will be expected to develop new tools and algorithms for mission systems modeling and data analysis.
- As a team member, you will contribute to completion of milestones within specific projects and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems.
- Giving presentations to peers, management, and customers will be required
- Responsibilities may include new business support in the form of proposal writing and/or cost/schedule estimation.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Required Skills and Education
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 4 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Top Secret security clearance is required with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
- Experience with Python programming is required. Training for other packages may be provided as needed.
- A working understanding of signal processing concepts across the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Ability to document analysis results and write reports.
- Effective communication skills.
- Analytic modeling capabilities.
- Ability to support the creation and delivery of analysis presentations to both internal and external customers.
- Ability to contribute to the success of small teams through excellent teamwork.
Preferred Skills and Education
- MS or PhD in Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Experience with space systems and orbital dynamics.
- Solid Python programming skills.
- Independent research experience, academic or otherwise.
- Experience with STK and/or AFSIM.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
