Reporting to the Warehouse Manager the Shipping & Warehouse Supervisor will lead cross-functional teams responsible for inventory control, outbound shipping, receiving and inter-facility logistics. This role will foster a culture of safety, performance excellence, and continuous improvement. This role demands a hands-on leader who leads by example, drives operational efficiency, and ensures alignment with business goals through tactical execution and KPI management. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Leadership & Team Development

 

  • Motivate, coach, and train staff to consistently deliver high standards of performance and service
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of accountability, professionalism, and respect and providing constructive feedback to team members where necessary
  • Manage personnel matters including staff decisions, coaching, progressive discipline, and leave management.  
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.  
  • Create a positive and engaging work environment that encourages initiative and ownership.  
  • Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements to boost morale and retention.  
  • Provide regular feedback and development opportunities tailored to individual strengths and goals.  
  • Encourage open communication and active participation in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.  
  • Support career growth through mentorship and cross-training initiatives.  

Safety 

  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed and enforced across departments.  
  • Conduct regular toolbox safety talks and promote a proactive safety culture.  
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards,   
  • Complete team evaluations as per company standards and policies.  
  • Performance & KPI Management  
  • Identify, monitor, and report on departmental KPIs to drive performance improvements.  
  • Analyze operational data to solve process-related issues and optimize workflows.  
  • Manage change initiatives aligned with strategic business objectives.  

Tactical & Operational Execution  

  • Oversee all aspects of inventory control, shipping logistics, production support and receiving operations.  
  • Ensure timely and accurate outbound shipments, including domestic, international and special shipments.  
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices across departments.  
  • Other duties as required.  

Required Skills:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. 
  • Proven experience in warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations. 
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.  
  • Experience with KPI development and performance tracking.  
  • High computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).  
  • Excellent communication skills: listening, summarizing, probing, and clarifying.  
  • Experience operating a forklift, certification an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  
  • Bilingual (English and French) considered an asset.
