Job Description

 The Lean Specialist will be responsible for providing hands-on leadership to deploy, implement, and drive the Lean Program across R&M (Repair & Maintenance) facilities, supporting operations in Villahermosa (Mexico), Colombia, and Argentina.

This role will lead the transformation toward a Lean organization by implementing tools such as Value Stream Management, PQPR, Safety, 5S, TPM, Standard Work, Kanban/Pull Systems, Root Cause Analysis, Quality at the Source, Lean Daily Management, SMED, Poka-Yoke, Just-in-Time, Cellular Manufacturing, A3/PDCA Problem Solving, and similar methodologies. The objective is to establish, sustain, and strengthen a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This position will work cross-functionally with teams including Service Quality, Warehouse, Repair & Maintenance, Supply Chain, HSE, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and Quality across multiple locations.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the deployment and sustainment of Lean initiatives in partnership with R&M Managers and Site Leadership across LATAM, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM), develop continuous improvement roadmaps, and implement related action plans.
  • Identify, standardize, and sustain efficient processes across multiple facilities.
  • Implement and coach Lean and daily management tools, including VSM, 5S, 5 Whys, TPM, Standard Work, Poka-Yoke, SIPOC, Process Mapping, Kanban, SMED, Visual Management, Hoshin Planning, and PDCA/DMAIC problem-solving cycles.
  • Engage employees at all levels—from shop floor to leadership—fostering a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Daily Management, Gemba Walks, and 5S practices.
  • Partner with R&M teams, functional leaders, and employees to identify process improvement and waste reduction opportunities, classifying initiatives as actions, projects, or Kaizen events.
  • Act as a change agent, promoting Lean culture, driving operational excellence, and ensuring measurable improvements in efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide hands-on shop floor support, leading by example and maintaining high engagement in Lean initiatives.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, multi-country environment, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills.

     


 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in, Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Electrical Engineering, Industrial).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence within Oil & Gas or heavy industry environments.
  • Lean Practitioner and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience implementing and improving Lean tools and systems, including VSM, 5S, 5 Whys, TPM, Standard Work, Poka-Yoke, SIPOC, Process Mapping, Kanban, SMED, Waste Reduction, Visual Management, Hoshin Planning, PDCA/DMAIC cycles, and Cellular Manufacturing.
  • Mandatory experience facilitating Kaizen events.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Visio, Power BI, JDE, and MyAdvisor is a plus.

     

Travel Requirement:

  • This role requires up to 20% travel, including domestic and occasional international travel within LATAM.
