Kraemer North America is currently looking for a Project Safety Manager to join our Mountain West Region - WA area. The Project Safety Manager assists the Regional Safety Manager and Safety Director by providing leadership and technical direction to project operations and direct reports regarding safety and health matters. This position evaluates the effectiveness of the safety program and communicates recommendations to improve safety performance when needed to support Kraemer’s Safe Production culture.

Responsibilities
- Works with field supervision to assess and document work practices to ensure Kraemer policies and procedures are supported by management and followed by employees. Follows up and assists with the corrective action process to ensure hazards are effectively eliminated and/or controlled in support of Kraemer’s Safe Production culture.
- Coordinates and conducts Kraemer and Owner new hire orientation programs and other safety-related training as needed in accordance with Kraemer policies and procedures.
- Supervises direct report(s).
- Provides safety leadership and acts as the project’s representative in all areas of occupational safety and health and assists project management in Work Activity Planning and the effective implementation of Kraemer’s Safety and Health Programs.
- Supports the Site-Specific Safety Plan for the project.
- Under the direction of the Regional Safety Manager, assists in the development or improvement of company policies, programs, and training materials.
- Ensures a proactive approach to safety by communicating safety-related issues through monthly and weekly safety updates, memos, and staff meetings.
- Administers and ensures compliance with Kraemer Safety and Environmental Programs.
- Investigates serious incidents of loss in conjunction with management/staff to determine root causes and necessary corrective action to prevent reoccurrence in accordance with Kraemer’s Incident Analysis and Reporting Program.
- Assists project managers in applying industrial hygiene procedures, techniques, and documentation of work practices to protect employees’ health and safety.
- Assists at the project level in the leadership and management of the Safe Production culture.
- Leads the facilitation and effective implementation of the TEAM and supervisor site inspection programs.
- Assists Kraemer personnel with safety related issues.
- Integrates and facilitates behavioral-based safety practices whenever and wherever possible.
- Assists the Regional Safety Manager in advising management of developments in federal and state safety regulations and notifies management of the potential impact to the region’s operations.
- Analyzes incidents of loss and statistical information, and reviews current risk management and safety and health policies/programs to provide management with recommendations for improved performance
- Works with the Risk Analyst, Safety Director, Regional Safety Manager, and Project Manager(s) to facilitate Kraemer Incident Analysis and Reporting, Medical Case Management, and Crisis Management programs.
- Implements document control procedures with safety correspondence and materials.
- Mentors and develops project staff.
- Conducts safety related training.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field experience with extensive coursework is preferred.
- Experience and expertise in risk management and loss control, construction management, industrial hygiene, and behavioral based safety is required.
- A professional safety certification – Associated Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Safety & Health Technician (CSHT), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred.
- Experience in area of operations (i.e., heavy civil or bridge construction and where applicable materials manufacturing)Sound knowledge of WISHA/OSHA, MSHA, and FRA Regulations.
- Computer literate: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.

Hiring Range: $95,000 - 125,000. Base salary/wage is dependent on multiple factors: education, experience, skills, market rates, internal equity and/or location.
