Job Description

Position Overview and Purpose

The Emissions Manager will manage the process of performing portable protocol and EPA method testing and is responsible for implementing company policies and procedures for all maintenance and portable protocol testing completed on company or customer owned equipment. They will work with customers and managers in determining testing and reporting needs for Baseline and customer activities in their respective areas.

 

Responsibilities

  • Fully implements and actively promotes Health, Safety & Environmental standards and policies, as well as any other customer or external agency's regulatory requirements to promote a safety culture.
  • Continuously improve the air emissions department including the development of best practices for operational excellence. 
  • Ensuring performance and completion of all service jobs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Champions a quality management culture and execution of excellent service.
  • Maintains good internal and external customer relationships, working to generate service opportunities.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial review efforts within their area of responsibility.
  • Monitor expenses, vehicle maintenance expenses, and field service tickets in workgroup.
  • Work with local/state/federal agencies to ensure all portable protocol and EPA method testing is compliant with local/state/federal air quality / emissions regulations.
  • Help with existing unit sizing and new unit specifications to make sure all equipment is capable of meeting emissions requirements of customers and/or federal emissions limits.
  • Develop competitive pricing structure for all emissions testing and technical services provided to customer’s that are not provided in our base service.
  • Implement, manage, and communicate performance measures for area of responsibility.
  • Respond to customer requests and address customer needs proactively while always representing the company in a professional manner; develop and maintain internal and external customer relationships.
  • Attend customer meetings as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for maintenance and emissions on company owned equipment.
  • Work with team members to ensure policies are being followed.
  • Work with customers and managers to determine testing and reporting needs for maintenance activities in their respective areas.
  • Maintain good vendor and client relations. Work with vendors to make sure BES is getting the best price available for emissions supplies.
  • Ensure proper coding, research, purchase orders and approval is placed for invoices.
  • Responsible for ensuring unnecessary purchases are not made and monitor said invoices for correct pricing, and when necessary, report any discrepancies for their area of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

 

Qualifications­

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and advanced vocational/technical training, bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Must have 10+ years applicable experience
  • Self-starter: takes initiative and demonstrates willingness to act with a sense of urgency.
  • A high degree of computer literacy in MS Excel and windows-based programs.
  • Above average communication skills, (written, verbal, listening, conflict resolution)
  • Strong interpersonal skills for customer relations
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of arithmetic and algebra. Basic knowledge of geometry and other mathematics.
  • Able to learn company specific applications.
  • Ability to travel an estimated 50% - 75% of the time to other regions if needed.
  • Knowledge of applicable environmental statutes and regulations in the area’s of operation.
  • Experience with modern engines and compressors used in the natural gas industry.
