VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT


SCHOOL YEAR 2026-2027


 


POSITION:  High School Teacher/Head Boys Basketball Coach


LOCATION:  Paul H. Pewitt High School


 


 


Position Summary:  Provide students with appropriate instruction in technology applications to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.  Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.


 


Position Requirements



  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree


 


Licenses/Other:



  • State of Texas Teaching Certificate in Special Education

  • CDL Class B with passenger (P) and School Bus (S) 


 


Classroom experience preferred but not mandatory


 


Knowledge/Skills:



  • Knowledge of core academic subject assigned

  • Knowlege of curriculum and instruction

  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Knowlege of coaching techniques and procedures

  • Knowlege of University Interscholastic League Rules 

  • Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
