Job Description
  •

We’re seeking an IT Engineering Platforms Architect to lead the strategy, architecture, delivery, and sustained operations of our product lifecycle management (PLM) and adjacent engineering platforms—centered on PTC Windchill products. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience supporting Engineering/R&D, combines enterprise‑grade platform architecture with hands‑on program and stakeholder management, and is comfortable leading cross‑functional teams through complex data migrations, upgrades, and integrations.

    What you’ll do

    Platform Architecture & Roadmap

Own the PLM platform architecture and roadmap; define reference architectures, system boundaries, integration patterns, security/role models, and SLAs across dev/test/prod.

Translate engineering and manufacturing requirements into scalable Windchill designs (PDMLink, ProjectLink), including object model, lifecycles, workflows, and versioning strategies.

Lead Windchill upgrades (e.g., patches, feature packs), performance tuning, and capacity planning.

    Program/Project Management

Run the PLM program as a portfolio: build business cases, budgets, and multi‑release plans; manage vendors/SIs and an onsite–offshore delivery model.

Establish governance, KPIs/OKRs, and change‑control; provide clear status, risk/issue management, and executive communications, aligning to defined IT process and procedures, where applicable.

    Integrations & Data

    Architect and oversee integrations

Lead engineering data migrations (assessment, extraction, cleansing/transform, validation, cutover).

    Support & Reliability

Drive ITIL‑aligned operations (incident, problem, change), user administration, license optimization, and compliance (e.g., SOX, export/ITAR as applicable).

Mentor admins/developers; establish best practices, standards, and documentation.

    What you’ll bring

    Minimum Qualifications

10+ years in IT for Engineering/R&D, with progressive responsibility across platform architecture and program/project management.

8–10+ years hands‑on PTC product utilization (Windchill, PDMLink, SolidWorks, Creo) covering configuration and targeted customization (lifecycles, workflows, OIRs, policies, data utilities).

Proven leadership of end‑to‑end data migrations into Windchill (Bulk Migrator/Loader; PL/SQL or equivalent), including reconciliation and validation plans.

Integration experience with ERP/CAD/MES; strong understanding of BOM/part structures, change management, and release processes.

Strong stakeholder management and executive communication; ability to lead onsite/offshore teams.

    Preferred/Plus

Java/J2EE exposure for reviewing custom solution approaches and performance (APIs, JSP, REST/SOAP, XML).

    Experience in discrete manufacturing.

Familiarity with ThingWorx, analytics, and CAD data management at scale.

Certifications: PTC Windchill, PMP/PMI‑ACP, or TOGAF (nice to have).

    Success looks like

A stable, secure, and performant PLM platform with >99.9% uptime and measurable cycle‑time reductions across ECO/ECR and release workflows.

Successful migration(s) with zero critical data defects and clean audit trails.

Clear roadmap execution—on time, on budget—with strong adoption and user satisfaction.
