Job Summary
The IT Team Lead, Minimally Supported Applications oversees a diverse portfolio of business and operational applications across Vandalia Health. This role leads the implementation, support, upgrade, documentation, optimization, and standardization of minimally supported applications used throughout the organization. The position provides direct supervision and development of team members, works closely with operational leaders and vendors, and helps ensure applications are reliable, well documented, aligned with best practices, and meeting organizational needs. This is a blended leadership role with an expected focus of approximately 50% supervision and team leadership and 50% hands-on application work. The role serves as both a working lead and a people leader, balancing day-to-day operational support, implementations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and application enhancement work with staff oversight, coaching, workload coordination, and team development. This role serves as a lead resource for issue resolution, application planning, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement. The IT Lead is expected to identify risks, escalate significant issues to leadership, promote standardization across the enterprise, and support the long-term health of the application portfolio. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to departmental change control processes. Maintains a level of cybersecurity knowledge sufficient to securely perform job duties. Responsibilities

- Lead the daily and long-range support, administration, and oversight of minimally supported applications across Vandalia Health. Plan, coordinate, and support new application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and optimization efforts.
- Supervise assigned team members, including work direction, coaching, staff development, performance management, and accountability for results.
- Promote team development through training, mentoring, cross-training, and skill growth. Establish, maintain, and improve documentation related to application configuration, workflows, support processes, downtime procedures, and operational ownership.
- Work to standardize applications, workflows, and support practices across the organization when appropriate.
- Partner with operational stakeholders, IT leaders, and other teams to evaluate business needs and translate them into practical application solutions.
- Support and troubleshoot a wide variety of applications used by departments across Vandalia Health. Interact directly with application vendors to troubleshoot issues, coordinate fixes, review defects, and support product improvement efforts.
- Enhance and optimize applications while maintaining a best practice approach to design, configuration, and support.
- Monitor application performance, recurring issues, and trends, and lead efforts to improve service quality, stability, and user experience.
- Escalate significant issues, risks, barriers, and service concerns to leadership in a timely manner. Lead or coordinate complex problem resolution efforts involving multiple teams, systems, vendors, or operational areas.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of support standards, documentation standards, and operational processes for the application portfolio.
- Help prioritize team workload and coordinate day-to-day assignments based on organizational needs, project timelines, and support demands.
- Serve as a lead point of contact for assigned applications during incidents, planned changes, upgrades, and major issue resolution.
- Participate in application lifecycle planning, including support strategy, upgrade planning, replacement planning, and standardization opportunities.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, service improvement, and roadmap discussions for minimally supported applications.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce variation, strengthen support models, and improve application adoption across Vandalia Health.
- Maintain a working understanding of healthcare application environments, vendor relationships, integration dependencies, and operational impact.
- Assist in orienting and training team members and other staff as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned.
