Job Description

SLR has an opening for an Operations Administrator to join us on a fixed-term contract of approximately 15 months, to cover a period of maternity leave. 

You will primarily support the Corporate Sustainability team and work with other Operations Administrators to service the wider Advisory team in Europe, with a focus on supporting existing and newly acquired teams within the current practice to enable a more integrated and efficient way of working.

Reporting to our Business Unit Director, who is based in the UK, you will work closely with our management team to support day to day operations of practice of 130 people (Corporate Sustainability) and 230 people in the wider Advisory business. This is an exciting role to support an evolving and dynamic team providing world class Advisory services to corporate clients.

You will be required to undertake a wide range of operational duties to support the Corporate Sustainability practice. You will need to be flexible, organised, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and use initiative to solve challenges in a pragmatic and client orientated way.

Key tasks will involve use of Vantagepoint, Sustain and Microsoft Excel, to support leadership, and enable teams to effectively manage projects and deliver excellent client service.

The role 


Key elements of this role will include:

  • Supporting the Corporate Sustainability leadership team on a day-to-day basis, with analysis and management reporting, with a particular focus on translating management information from Vantagepoint and Finance.
  • Working across the Corporate Sustainability team and Advisory to effectively support team members – particularly those recently joining from newly acquired businesses – to deliver excellent project management and client delivery.
  • Building key internal relationships and contact points for effective engagement with SLR shared services.
  • Generating, maintaining, and updating a range of management and financial reports, ensuring data is accurate, up to date, and presented in a clear and meaningful way to support decision making.
  • Assisting team members in maintaining accurate management information and records, as well as general project administration, including assisting with project management and invoicing.
  • Supporting financial aspects of the role, including working confidently with financial data, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in reporting and project finances.
  • Undertaking other administrative duties, as required.

About you

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to organise, analyse, and present data effectively using formulas, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools.
  • Comfortable working with financial data, with strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret figures accurately to support project finances and reporting.
  • Understanding of Vantagepoint and Sustain favourable – experience in managing proposals and projects using Vantagepoint/Sustain (i.e. data needed to set up a proposal and manage a project). Appropriate training will be provided if you are not familiar with these systems.
  • Understanding and experience operating in a dynamic management consulting environment favourable.
  • Experience of operations in a consultancy or professional services environment – understanding of the types of finance, HR and operational systems and processes that a consultancy team requires and how performance is managed and measured.   
  • Personal qualities – ability to learn quickly, ability to build trusted relationships, ability to adapt communications style to circumstances, flexible, organised and comfortable working in a fast-moving corporate consulting environment.
