ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following but are not limited to):
Evaluate and treat adults with I/DD preferred, or experience treating individuals with physical, cognitive, and psychological ailments
Treating clients with dysphagia, cognitive impairments, speech/language deficits, voice disorders, and other developmental and/or intellectual disabilities
Competence in administering and interpreting standardized assessments
Communicate with supports coordinator to promote implementation of recommendations in home and community settings
Developing treatment plans in line with ISPs
Educate staff on recommendation to be performed outside of therapy sessions
Adheres to DDD guidelines for habilitative and rehabilitative therapy services
Follows directive from Clinical Director
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution
Valid NJ state licensure in Speech Language Pathology
Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (CCC-SLP) required
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a speech language pathologist; preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities (special needs)
Strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives
Experience with Foothold Awards preferred
