QUALIFICATIONS:
1.    Valid New Jersey instructional certificate or eligibility
Teacher of Student with Disabilities OR Teacher of the Handicapped
2.    Demonstrate organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
3.    Demonstrate knowledge of effective teaching methods.
4.    Ability to design and deliver developmentally appropriate classroom activities
5.    Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
6.    Required criminal history background check 
7.    Proof of citizenship or legal resident alien status
8.    Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment

REPORTS TO:      Superintendent/Principal/Director of Student Services and Programming

JOB GOAL:    

    1. Maximize the learning experience of students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum
    2. Address students' specific needs by providing a safe and optimal learning environment
    3. Develop student Individual Educational Plans (IEP)
    4. Implement behavior plans
    5. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary members
    6. Maintain appropriate relationships with parents and other staff members.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  Full-Time September 1, 2026-June 30, 2027*

*Please note that all new staff are required by contract to attend an orientation prior to September 1.

PAY RATE:    $ 61,894 (minimum)     BENEFITS:    Medical, Dental, and Prescription
