What You’ll Do: 

The Director, FP&A reports to the Vice President, Strategy & Planning and works closely with other members of the Finance Leadership Team to elevate the performance of the Finance function and the broader organization. This hands-on leader manages a team of seven and is responsible for driving high-quality analytical support and business insight across the company. The role oversees financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, business intelligence, and emerging finance technologies, with a focus on continuous improvement in the quality, speed, and reliability of reporting and analytics. This leader will proactively identify performance trends, evaluate issues raised by senior leadership, and translate data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and long-term, profitable growth. They will also serve as a key liaison between Corporate Finance and Commercial Finance Business Partnering. 

Location:This position is based out of our Vancouver head office location. This role requires you to work in-branch 4 days per week.   

Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate financial performance and support key business, financial, and operating decisions with insightful analysis 
  • Work closely with other leaders within Strategy & Planning to reinforce accountability, and share insight to drive for results 
  • Lead financial analysis for corporate initiatives, including strategic priorities 
  • Lead the annual budgeting cycle, including assessing assumptions and reporting to Executive and Board 
  • Oversee the monthly financial forecasting process, including challenging key assumptions, evaluating trends, and communicating results to senior leadership 
  • Oversee board, management, and performance reporting, ensuring alignment with business intelligence outputs 
  • Administer and enhance the OneStream Corporate Performance Management system and Tableau/SAP Datasphere data visualization tools 
  • Leverage data and analytics to proactively identify performance trends and generate actionable business insights 
  • Support all capital allocation activities, including investment planning, approvals, execution, and post-implementation reviews 
  • Coordinate activities of the Capital Approval Committee and ensure effective execution of capital approvals 
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to drive accurate and timely performance reporting, ensuring data integrity and consistency 
  • Lead finance technology projects, including the Reporting Transformation Project and Forecast Reboot initiatives 
  • Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis to support evolving business needs 
  • Direct, influence, inspire, and coach others to foster a culture of high performance and engagement 
  • Translate macroeconomic and commercial trends into relevant context for internal stakeholders 

Who You Are: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with CPA or other financial designation required  
  • A minimum of approximately 10-15 years of progressive experience in financial roles, with at least five years of experience leading a multifunctional team   
  • Strong interpersonal skills capable of working closely with, presenting to, negotiating with and influencing all levels within the business, including the Senior Leadership Team  
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on leadership capacity, as well as effectively coach, mentor and develop team members  
  • Extensive FP&A experience, including financial analysis, data analytics, management reporting, and business case development, ideally within large, complex multi-site, multi-currency, and cross-border organizations  
  • Demonstrated success leading budgeting and forecasting processes (including cash flow forecasting) in a large multi-location business, preferably with a sales focus  
  • Track record leading or playing a key role in corporate finance and capital allocation activities  
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system is strongly preferred  
  • Deep understanding of OneStream (or similar Corporate Performance Management system) and Tableau (or similar data visualization systems) strongly preferred   
  • Critical thinking skills, with the ability to see the big picture while demonstrating strong detail orientation  
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment; comfortable with ambiguity; can operate effectively with little direction and takes initiatives to improve processes  
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.
