Job Description

Context

As ASML introduces its lithography platform to Japan, we are expanding operational planning capabilities in This role is essential for enabling the deployment, ramp-up, and long-term operational execution that matches our business development.

The Operational Planner will work independently within a complex network of interdependent processes. Strong analytical ability, structured problem-solving, and a deep understanding of cross-functional collaboration are key. Project management capability is highly desirable, as this role will support readiness and execution activities for ASML

Success requires excellent teamwork and stakeholder management, as you’ll collaborate with global and local teams across supply chain, logistics, field operations, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Order Management

  • Coordinate end-to-end order management for SCM-related activities within ASML’s IT systems.

  • Execute planning and administrative tasks with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Participate in and drive improvements in order flow processes.

Issue Resolution

  • Investigate and resolve operational discrepancies (e.g., part mismatches, location issues, quantity deviations).

  • Conduct root-cause analyses to eliminate recurring issues.

  • Communicate findings and actions clearly to operational teams.

Tracking, Reporting & Analytics

  • Collect and interpret data across multiple systems to steer operational decisions.

  • Provide insights that support execution quality and planning readiness.

  • Conduct deep dives on emerging challenges or areas requiring expanded scope.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with counterparts across operational, supply chain, and field teams.

  • Influence TL/GL-level stakeholders on process improvements or alignment across conflicting priorities.

  • Foster collaboration and transparency across deployment activities.

Operational Planning Systems & Tooling

  • Utilize established planning tools to support operational execution.

  • Identify and recommend improvements to planning systems, data structures, and parameters.

  • Ensure data accuracy by gathering and validating critical planning inputs.

Continuous Improvement & Project Management

  • Apply structured problem-solving methods (e.g., A3, 5xWhy) to drive process stability.

  • Lead medium-sized improvement projects and contribute to larger, cross-sector initiatives.

  • Support readiness activities for system introduction and scaling by leveraging project management capability.

Team Contribution & Mentoring

  • Act as a mentor to junior colleagues.

  • Share knowledge and contribute to building a high-performance, collaborative team culture.

Requirements

Education

  • MSc in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent expertise.

Experience

  • Experience with operational planning processes, tools, and techniques.

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation capabilities.

  • Experience working in environments with high process interdependencies.

  • Project or program management experience strongly preferred.

Language

  • Business-level English is required.

  • Japanese language familiarity is preferable to support local stakeholder communication in Chitose and broader Japan operations.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to clearly articulate decisions.
