Job Description

PROGRAM ENGINEER – COMMERCIAL

Program Engineer is responsible for the Customer assigned program. Manage the customer relationship between customer design and engineering team and the PKC production plant(s).

Responsibilities/ Skills.

  • Responsible for leading the PKC plant through new project launches. Creating and maintaining timing plans and holding weekly meetings to review program status.
  • Daily communication with customer engineering team.
  • Must be able to read customer harness drawings to help resolve issues as they arise.
  • Launch Readiness APQP support (Components and EDS) - includes meeting support and tasks and actions required to ensure safe Pre-Production builds and Launch.
  • Manage the customer relationship with the objective of remaining a strong partnership.
  • Provide advanced information to manufacturing plants (advanced BOMS/prints/material specs)
  • Identify new components based on customer drawings, BOM´s, material specs
  • Ensure all parts are set up in advance on time (MAPS) for new components, for new programs and current production.
  • Facilitate Print clarifications/resolution between customer/design/manufacturing plants (including DFMs and Alerts and Deviations).
  • Maintain updated Program Parts list.
  • Management of Engineering Changes (new revisions) requested by customer/design/supplier for upcoming builds or Running Changes.
  • Collect and share all the information and files needed for quoting.
  • Create and maintain timing plans to meet customer build phases.
  • Deliver to OPM on time all the information required for CAPEX and RAS.
  • Create Tooling summary for financial review, considering necessaries adders for the development of tool/assembly.
  • Support the Manufacturing Program Management Gate Review Process and attend Gate Reviews and "Go to Gemba" events that are scheduled for assigned programs.
  • Flawless launches and builds without escalation to PKC Customer Director for assigned projects and programs.
  • EHS Requirements
  • Comply with and ensure compliance with PKC Group's Environment, Health and Safety Policy and Energy Policy.
  • Comply with the environmental, health, safety and energy requirements set forth in Federal, State and Municipal legislation and applicable regulations related to our activities and products to comply with the EMASS (Energy, Environment, Health and Safety) procedures inherent to their work position. 
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the Energy, Environment, Health and Safety Management System.

 

Profile 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering related field (Industrial or Electrical)
  • 2+ yrs of experience in Wiring Harnesses and/or components
  • Automotive Electrical Systems and/or Injection Molded Components
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process and products

Skills/ Knowledge requirements:

  • Bilingual, Spanish and English (English 90% (fluent write & verbal))
  • Office packet domain: PLEX, SAP, IMS, Microsoft Office, Project software
  • Strong sense of customer orientation
