Job Description

Love being on the water, leading a crew, and making a real impact? This could be your next move.

We’re on the lookout for an Assistant Site Manager to join our Barramundi Operations team at Cone Bay. In this role, you’ll be right in the thick of it—leading day-to-day operations, supporting your crew, and helping drive strong fish performance, safety, and sustainable farming practices.

You’ll play a key role in keeping everything running smoothly, from fish welfare through to cost management, all while building a positive, high-performing team culture.

What you’ll be doing

No two days look the same, but you’ll be:

  • Championing a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation across the site
  • Supporting and leading a team where people feel safe, respected, and motivated
  • Working closely with other marine teams to share ideas and lift performance
  • Helping deliver sustainable farming practices across our leases and operations
  • Managing stock to maximise quality, value, and financial performance
  • Planning and supporting fish transfers
  • Keeping everything compliant with policies, procedures, and certification standards
  • Identifying opportunities to improve, innovate, and do things better

About you

You’re someone who enjoys leading from the front, building strong relationships, and creating a team environment where people actually want to come to work.

You’re confident working with different stakeholders—from crew to community—and you bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in an operational role within aquaculture, with runs on the board
  • Strong people leadership skills (you know how to get the best out of a team)
  • Great communication skills—both written and verbal
  • Solid computer skills, including working with data/BI tools
  • Understanding of financial and operational performance
  • A knack for spotting opportunities to improve and innovate

To hit the ground running, you’ll need:

  • Master 5
  • MED2
  • Aquaculture Diver
  • Dive Supervisor
  • Dogging & Rigging
  • Remote Area First Aid

Why join us?

  • Work in a unique, hands-on environment
  • 3 Weeks on, 3 weeks off with meals and accommodation provided on shift
  • Be part of a supportive, down-to-earth team
  • Make a real impact on sustainable food production
  • Grow your career in a dynamic industry
