Job Description

Description: The working line lead will serve as a production employee, support break relief, and act as a back production supervisor in the event to assist with meeting daily production requirements. This includes setting goals and meeting SnackCraft standards. The working lead must be capable of operating bagger equipment efficiently, work weekends, help with production work orders, end of shift reporting and help support weekend rotations when overtime is scheduled. 

Work Environment: This job operates in a food production and warehouse setting. Physical stamina and ability to work in environments with noise, heat, and machinery. The floor surface is concrete. The noise level is moderate with no vibration. Material movement takes place throughout the facility.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Be the example in following GMP, Food Safety, HACCP and procedures and enforce GMP and food safety standards. 
  • Ability to oversee the entire production line, monitoring product quality and ensuring compliance, Prioritizing tasks to meet production deadlines
  • Coordinating shift changes and resource allocation
  • Conflict resolution and team-building skills
  • Complete end of shift reporting with accuracy and in a timely manner 
  • Ability and Knowledge of work order completion to support the production schedule. 
  • Must be capable of operating bagger equipment efficiently.  
  • Must be able to backup production supervisor 
  • Must be able to work weekends and support the production team on a weekend rotation 
  • Communicate any deficiencies during Production Operations to proper parties  
  • Facilitate and give break relief as necessary for all roles within the line 
  • Ensure efficient shift change operations by reviewing paperwork, code dates, and labelling are correct and communicating any errors in these to proper parties 
  • Coordinate with packers, bagger operators and kitchen operators to ensure smooth Production Operations 
  • Escalate any personnel issues to production management as necessary 
  • Communicate frequently with QA personnel regarding documentation, packaging, processing and quality concerns 
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance and Production personnel for efficient product changeovers 
  • Maintaining accurate records and production logs; Verify code dates on labels, packing cards, skid sheets. Verify allergen labelling is correct and filled out on allergenic finished goods 
  • Identifying deviations in production processes; ensure hourly checks are being completed by packers, kitchen and bagger operators 
  • Ensure hi-lo drivers are keeping accurate counts and considering product put on hold or reworked 
  • Substitute positions as needed 
  • Maintain general housekeeping for the lines, for example: empty trash receptacles as needed 
  • Direct personnel during production changeovers and support the sanitation department with cleanups 
  • Actively search for ways to improve efficiency in production aera 
  • Ensure all staff have taken appropriate breaks 
  • Assist in leading pre-shift meetings 
  • Other:
    • Follow and enforce all OSHA Safety Regulation and Safety Rules.
    • Utilize knowledge and research methods to benchmark materials planning activities and to drive best practice results
    •  Work towards and support a culture of continuous improvement and work to make business and department improvements wherever possible
    • Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
