The Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO) serves Saint Paul residents and businesses by advancing justice and equity through education, advocacy, and enforcement. The Department of Human Rights & Equal Economic Opportunity is composed of several divisions that perform a diverse array of functions.

Here’s what you can expect to do:
Performs entry level professional purchasing procedures in the acquisition of goods and services from a variety of vendors including small, women, and minority owned businesses. Participates with other buyers in planning for acquisition of goods and services.
Provides customer service, basic buying, and contracting services.
Serves as liaison between the Procurement Division and internal and external customers.
Refers or resolves questions or concerns from users, vendors, and the public.
Assists in conducting market surveys, research, and analysis.
Participates in Division programs, plans, and projects.

Position Duties
Successful candidates typically enter this role with four years of relevant education or related work experience. That path to qualification would usually include:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Supply chain Management, Material Management, Accounting or closely related field.
OR
At least four years of work experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, project management, accounting, or a related field.
An Associate degree in a field listed above will qualify for up to two years of work experience; therefore, candidates would need an additional two years of experience.
Substitution:
- Relevant work experience that would result in specialized knowledge comparable to the above degree can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Additional certifications and training which could be counted for experience may be specified in the job posting.
