PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Job Summary: The Program Director provides strategic leadership and operational
oversight for instructional programs and support services, ensuring alignment with district
goals, regulatory requirements, and workforce standards. This role drives program quality,
student success, and organizational effectiveness through the development,
implementation, and evaluation of competency-based instruction, while fostering
collaboration across internal stakeholders, external partners, and state agencies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Master’s degree in a related field required
• Standard or Provisional Principal’s Certificate required
• Minimum of five years successful experience in teaching, administration, or
supervision of a career and technology education program required
• Experience as a Principal, Director, or Coordinator in a career and technology
education setting or equivalent experience in curriculum development or
instructional supervision is preferred
Terms of Employment:
• 12-month, exempt employee
Key Duties and Responsibilities: including other duties as assigned
• District Planning and Leadership
▪ Collaborate with executive leadership to define strategic priorities, establish
district goals, and support policy development
▪ Assist in defining short-term and long-range educational needs and planning
initiatives
▪ Coordinate the development of long-range plans for instructional programs and
support services
▪ Participate in senior staff meetings and organizational decision-making processes
▪ Support legislative engagement efforts in collaboration with district leadership

▪ Participate in team management processes and support the district’s
organizational philosophy
• Policy, Compliance, and Reporting
▪ Interpret and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, statues, and
Board of Education policies
▪ Assist in upholding and enforcing district policies and procedures
▪ Develop and implement procedures for instructor evaluation in compliance with
legal and policy requirements
▪ Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to the Assistant
Superintendent of Instruction, the Superintendent, the Board of Education, and
appropriate state agencies
▪ Research, evaluate, and disseminate relevant information to support compliance
informed decision-making
• Supervisory Expectations
▪ Provide direct supervision, leadership, and performance management for
assigned instructional and instructional support staff, ensuring alignment with
district goals, and expectations
▪ Conduct formal evaluations, coaching sessions, and professional development
planning in accordance with district policies and timelines
▪ Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures, providing
ongoing feedback to support staff growth and effectiveness
▪ Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that promotes teamwork,
engagement, and continuous improvement
▪ Support recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention strategies to build and
sustain a high-quality workforce
▪ Work collaboratively with the Director of Human Resources to address employee
relations matters proactively, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and
performance improvement plans
▪ Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining oversight of program
outcomes and staff performance
▪ Model professional standards, ethical conduct, and effective leadership practices
across all interactions
▪ Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of
competency-based instructional materials and methods
▪ Ensure instructional programs align with district goals, workforce needs, and
industry standards
▪ Promote continuous improvement in curriculum design and instructional delivery

• Student Support and Discipline Management
▪ Receive, investigate, and respond to disciplinary reports and student misconduct
concerns
▪ Determine appropriate corrective actions and implement strategies to prevent
future incidents
▪ Interview and counsel students to support academic and program success
▪ Support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of
emergency response procedures and protocols to ensure student and staff safety
• Staff Development and Personnel
▪ Supervise assigned personnel, including conducting annual evaluations and
performance management activities
▪ Support recruitment and selection of instructional and instructional support staff
▪ Participate in annual personal growth evaluation with the Assistant
Superintendent of Instruction
▪ Foster professional growth and development among staff through coaching and
support
▪ Encourage and support staff in pursuing professional development opportunities
beyond required annual training to enhance skills, knowledge, and instructional
effectiveness
• Public and Professional Relations
▪ Promote positive public relations and stakeholder engagement to enhance
organizational reputation and internal morale
▪ Establish and maintain partnerships with state agencies, including the Oklahoma
Department of Career and Technology Education
▪ Participate in and support professional engagement with the Oklahoma
Association of Career and Technology Education (OkACTE) and the Cooperative
Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA)
▪ Establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with sending schools
and local industry partners to support student success and workforce alignment
▪ Attend Board of Education meetings and other required organizational functions
as appropriate and available
▪ Participate in professional development and civic activities to maintain
professional competence
▪ Develop proposals and pursue funding opportunities to support programs and
activities
