DEPARTMENT: MARKETING

REPORTS TO: MARKETING MANAGER

STATUS: UNPAID INTERNSHIP (COLLEGE CREDIT)

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:

Marketing Interns will learn how to promote and market sports leagues, camps, clinics, tournaments, and other special events. They will be immersed in the scheduling, execution, and day-to-day operations of facility based marketing assisting in the following areas: broadcasting, video production & editing and ultimately designing print and electronic design deliverables for the venue's managed facilities and brand development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Edit photos, create social posts, and express a multitude of brand identities for our clients
  • Assist in creating brand & style guides for a variety of sports facilities, events, and programs
  • Learn art direction over vendors with clear and concise briefs
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web)
  • Help drive towards achieving key delivery dates
  • Use SEO analysis resources and tools to audit the company's SEO practices and help re-design its SEO strategy
  • Research content and SEO best practices to provide recommendations for improving the company's online presence
  • Assist in the editing and creation of original content that captures the company's brand and unique voice

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current student working towards a degree in graphic design, marketing, digital communications or related field
  • Working knowledge with Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • A desire to understand sports and events narrative with the ability to evoke them through graphics
  • High level of creativity, passion and integrity
  • Organized and able to multi-task
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally, visually and in writing
  • Presentation skills
  • An understanding of formatting articles on the web
  • Excellent overall writing skills in a number of different styles/tones

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Working environment is fast paced
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds infrequently
  • Will be required to sit for extended periods of time operating a computer
  • Workplace environment has intermittent noise, generally moderate in nature, but can be loud at times especially during competitions and events
  • Exposure to heat, cold and other elements
  • Facility has intermittent noise
