Alaris Health at Cedar Grove, a 217 bed-skilled nursing Center in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, seeks a registered nurse (RN) to help oversee nursing personnel, tend to the unit’s daily operations and fulfill other responsibilities, including but not limited to

The Dietary Aide performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities and equipment. He/she may also assist in some aspects of food preparation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty

  • Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures

  • Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment

  • Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room, as instructed by supervisor

  • Servers – in dining rooms

  • Prepare and deliver snacks as directed

  • Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures

  • Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisor

  • Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights

  • Performs related work as assigned

Job Skills

  • Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.

  • Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.

  • Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food in an appetizing manner.

  • Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

  • Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in the English language. 6 Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Must be Reliable and Keep to a Schedule

  • May Need to Work a Varied Schedule, as requested

  • Ability to read, write, and understand directions in English language.

  • Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.
