Job Summary
Are you a strategic leader with a strong technical background and a passion for driving business growth? Join TÜV Rheinland as a Branch Manager in Bratislava, where you’ll lead a team of 5 experienced auditors and play a key role in expanding our certification and inspection services across Slovakia.
This hands-on leadership role combines technical expertise, team management, and business development to grow our market presence, strengthen client relationships, and deliver exceptional value to our partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Growth:
- Drive business growth by expanding technical certification and inspection services in Slovakia,
- Identify new opportunities and develop services in areas like materials testing, elevator certification, PED, and energy-related services,
- Build strong client relationships and lead tendering and proposal activities,
- Increase office headcount.
- Technical & Operational Leadership:
- Manage a team of 5 mechanical engineer auditors, ensuring high-quality technical execution in welding, system certification, and conformity assessments,
- Collaborate with internal experts, subcontractors, and international teams to deliver exceptional results.
- People & Office Management:
- Lead and motivate the team, providing feedback and supporting professional growth,
- Oversee branch operations, including resource planning, budgets, and profitability (P&L),
- Ensure smooth coordination with legal and operational partners.
Requirements
- Must-have:
- Fluency in Slovak and English,
- Engineering degree (Mechanical preferred; Electrical acceptable with strong mechanical/welding knowledge),
- 5+ years of experience in business development and client relationship management,
- 3+ years of leadership experience, managing technical teams,
- Solid background in welding, mechanical engineering, certification, or inspection,
- Experience with quality management systems,
- Strong business mindset and ability to grow services and teams,
- Willingness to work on-site in Bratislava and travel within Slovakia (occasional visits to Budapest).
- Nice-to-have:
- Welding engineer qualification or expertise in welding technology,
- Experience with PED (2014/68/EU), pressure equipment, or the energy services,
- Background in materials testing or elevator certification,
- Established network within Slovak industries,
- German and/or Hungarian language skills.
