Career Opportunities: Freight Operations Executive (8221)

Purpose of the Job

This role is directly involved with all exported goods. The principal function of the role is to arrange and manage the transportation cycle by air and ocean and to ensure all necessary paperwork is complete and legally acceptable to Customs to allow clearance and export into the country of destination. 

Job Description

  • Booking shipments with airlines, ocean carriers and NVOCC's. Whilst this role is heavily weighted to ocean exports, you will also be required to handle air freight exports
  • Create and issue quotations to prospects, customers and overseas offices in line with the operational SOP
  • Ensure all quotations are followed up and actioned accordingly 
  • Arrange collections with external parties 
  • Booking of shipments into CargoWise
  • Dealing with SRN's from overseas offices 
  • Prepare, control & distribute all required documentation to counterparts complying with regulations & internal procedures 
  • Maintain excellent relationships with internal & external customers
  • Follow up shipment status, identify incidents & ensure resolution of incidents
  • Comply with Aramex QOSS
  • Comply with CAA regulations and Aviation Security 
  • Handling customer enquiries 
  • Preparation of entries via CDS system
  • Follow up of shipment status, identify incidents and ensure resolution of incidents
  • Liaise with origin offices, managing new bookings and receive pre-alerts
  • Create jobs in the operating system 
  • Checking supplier invoices versus accruals
  • To ensure original documents are posted accordingly for release
  • To update and maintain customer scheudles 
  • To cost and invoice files
  • To maintain and pass KPI standards
  • Arrange the release and transportation of goods received to cargo importers 
  • Negotiate terms and rates
  • To communicate and update customers on a regular basis on the status of their shipments 

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • Proficent working knowledge of CargoWise
  • Relevant working experience in the Freight Forwarding industry 
  • Experience in operations and broad knowledge of regulations
  • Excellent MS office skills: Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Problem solving ability, particularly when working under pressure
