The EC teacher provides specialized instruction and support to high school students with disabilities, ensuring access to a rigorous curriculum in the least restrictive environment. The EC teacher collaborates with general education teachers, support staff, families and service providers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEP'S) that promote academic, social and emotional growth, preparing students for post secondary success.
- Develop, implement and monitor IEPS's in compliance with federal, state and local regulations
- Provide differentiated, small group and/or co-taught instruction aligned to content standards
- Collect data and assess student progress regularly to inform instruction and adjust strategies
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment focused on student strengths
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide accommodations, modifications and instructional support
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional learning communities (PLC's)
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and reporting
