Shift: 12 hr varied
In this position as an Emergency Medical Technician, you will provide compassionate, front-line emergency care as part of a dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you’ll respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls, delivering timely assessment, treatment, and safe patient transport while operating within EMT-Basic scope under clinical supervision. You’ll ensure ambulances and equipment are fully prepared for rapid response, support ongoing patient care within the Emergency Department, and assist with essential clinical tasks such as vital signs, EKGs, IVs, and patient monitoring. This position also plays a key role in maintaining smooth ED operations, mentoring new staff, and upholding high standards of patient care, safety, and readiness across all assignments.
PRN staff are required to attend all mandatory trainings and meetings as well as work a minimum of 3 shifts per 6 week schedule.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: 1 Year of practical experience in Emergency Medical Services or related is preferred.
EDUCATION: High school graduate, HiSET or GED equivalent required. Successful completion of a DOT approved Emergency Medical Technician- Basic course is required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: State of Montana Licensure required. National (NREMT) certification preferred. Current BLS Certification is required. Current Montana State unrestricted driver’s license and excellent driving record is required, EVOC certification within one year of employment date. Completed EMT endorsement courses are preferred.

Demonstrated ability to receive and adapt to feedback and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments. Demonstrated ability to read and write in order to complete medical reports and basic arithmetic is required.
