Job Description

Job Summary:   The House Supervisor is responsible to the Senior Director – Patient Care Services (CNO), or her/his designee.  The House Supervisor guides, directs, performs patient care services, counsels, teaches, and evaluates all nursing units on a specific 12-hour work shift.  The House supervisor works with ancillary department managers under the direction of the SDPCS. The House Supervisor assures appropriate staffing and guides nursing staff to provide safe, competent care.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Oregon RN license without restriction, BSN preferred.
  2. Three years experience in nursing in an acute care setting
  3. Two years experience in a supervisory or charge capacity.
  4. Ability or aptitude for coordination of interdepartmental and nursing communications.
  5. Possess skills in identifying problems, planning, and implementing solutions.
  6. Computer experience is required.
  7. Current BLS, and ACLS. TNCC, NRP, Basic Fetal Monitoring, and STABLE within 1 year of hire.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ability to communicate therapeutically.
  2. Demonstrated ability to apply the nursing process to patient care in an acute care setting.
  3. Demonstrated competency in clinical nursing, including emergency, critical care, and obstetrics.
  4. Ability to supervise personnel and manage the direction of patient care in the nursing units.
  5. Ability to provide direct patient care as needed.
  6. Possess the ability to provide care for the patients’ age-specific cultural, physical, and psychosocial well-being.
  7. Able to lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds when performing patient care.
  8. Critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills. Professionalism and managing up are a requirement.

 

The House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, leading, and maintaining clinical and patient care standards for the hospital. The incumbent oversees daily operations, nursing practice, and patient care delivery of all clinical areas within the hospital. Responsible for managing and developing staff, implementing evidence-based policies and procedures, supporting quality and performance improvement initiatives, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, while being mindful of budget administration. Supports goals and tactics to meet the strategic business plan objectives of Grande Ronde Hospital.

 

Compensation:

$64.71 - $89.20 Per Hour DOE
