About the Department

City of Neenah Mission

Position Overview:

The City of Neenah Water Utility is seeking a full time Filtration Plant Electrical Technician who is a well-organized, detail-oriented, energetic person to troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and repair a wide variety of equipment and automated systems inherent to the Surface Water/Lime Softening/UV Disinfection Water Filtration Plant.

 The purpose of this position is to provide and oversee the repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance on all pumping and filtration equipment, buildings, water towers, auxiliary power, and other related treatment and communications equipment the maintenance for the City of Neenah Water Filtration Plant.     

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repairs and maintains filtration equipment including pumps, electric motors, generators, chemical feed equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation, boilers, heaters, diesel and gas engines, valves, pipes, meters, basins, mixers and cathodic protection systems, and filters.
  • Performs general building maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Maintains, repairs, and calibrates laboratory instruments, chemical feed systems, pumping systems, disinfection systems, and online instrumentation.
  • Complies with all safety and work-related regulations.
  • Serves as a backup for all essential tasks of the Water Treatment Plant Operator including plant operation and water quality lab testing procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent in the maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • Four years of experience in the electrical/mechanical field with demonstrated ability in diagnostics and repairing mechanical systems and control equipment.
  • Wisconsin DNR Waterworks Operating License for surface water treatment, lime softening, and distribution to be obtained within one year of employment.
