Job Description
Position Summary

Ogletree’s Knowledge and Innovation department has an opportunity for an experienced Manager to join its Solutions team. The primary role of the Solutions Manager is to maintain and enhance the firm’s intranet and related knowledge platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of attorneys and staff, incorporate the latest features and innovations, and provide a seamless user experience. 

 

This role will oversee intranet operations, manage and prioritize enhancement projects with the firm’s SharePoint vendor, and support the firm’s knowledge chatbot, enterprise search, expertise-data initiatives and associated projects and opportunities. The Manager will also collaborate closely with attorneys, practice groups, IT, and external vendors to design and deliver scalable, repeatable solutions. The Solutions Manager will report to the Senior Manager, Client Solutions. 


Essential Functions

  • Oversee the firm’s intranet (SharePoint-based), ensuring it remains current, reliable, and user-friendly by partnering with the vendor to test and deploy new features, and by monitoring usage and performance through regular reporting and analysis. 
  • Collaborate with attorneys, practice groups, and administrative teams to gather requirements and prioritize intranet improvements. 
  • Work with stakeholders to understand and analyze business needs, and prepare business case documentation for proposed projects 
  • Provide project support for related projects including, the firm’s knowledge chatbot, enterprise search, and expertise-data initiatives, helping ensure information is accurate, accessible, and actionable. 
  • Establish and oversee intranet content governance, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and usability through defined processes for content creation, curation, and lifecycle management. 
  • Serve as product manager for assigned tools, maintaining the roadmap, backlog, and release planning. 
  • Lead intranet and knowledge-platform projects using appropriate methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Waterfall as needed). 
  • Prepare business cases, scope documents, and project communications. 
  • Conduct user research, focus groups, and UAT to ensure solutions align with attorney and staff needs. 
  • Apply change-management principles to drive adoption of new features and solutions. 
  • Collaborate with Knowledge & Innovation, IT, Marketing, and other firm stakeholders to align technology solutions with firm strategy. 
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate external resources as needed. 
  • Prepare and send project-related communications and reports, tracking milestones, budget, and related project dependencies 

Requirements

Required 

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience. 
  • 4+ years managing an intranet or knowledge platform (SharePoint strongly preferred) in a law firm or professional services environment. 
  • 4+ years of experience leading technology or knowledge projects. 
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience. 
  • Strong experience working with external vendors on technology initiatives. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences. 
  • Demonstrated success with project management (Agile/Scrum experience preferred). 
  • Experience documenting processes, requirements, and ROI for improvements. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver on deadlines, and exercise sound business judgment. 
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of stakeholders, including attorneys, administrative staff, and technical teams such as IT, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences. 

Preferred 

  • Experience with UI/UX design, including wireframing and prototyping. 
  • Familiarity with knowledge chatbots, enterprise search, and expertise-location tools. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and workflow automation. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI 
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Figma 
  • Understanding of design thinking and systems thinking. 
  • Knowledge of law-firm technologies (e.g., iManage, enterprise search, KM platforms). 

Benefits

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $123,280 and $184,920. In accordance with New York State’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York State position is between $112,720 and $206,916. In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $115,600 and $206,916. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $128,440 and $192,660.  In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $128,440 and $192,660.  In accordance with Maryland’s Equal Pay for Equal Work-Wage Range Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Baltimore position is between $115,600 and $173,400.   In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act Transparency Notice, the expected salary range for this Illinois position is between $128,440 and $192,660.  In accordance with Massachusetts Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act, the expected salary range for this Massachusetts position is between $137,944 and $206,916. In accordance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Minnesota position is between $115,600 and $173,400. In accordance with New Jersey Senate Bill 2310, the expected salary range for this New Jersey position is between $137,944 and $206,916. In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, as of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current scale range for this position in Cleveland, OH is $112,720 and $169,080 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
