Job Description

Safety Worxs is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator (Field-Based / Site Support) to support construction and industrial project in Brantford, Ontario for a project up to 6 months. This role is ideal for a motivated safety professional who understands field execution, regulatory compliance, and proactive safety culture. Candidates with mid-level through senior-level experience will be considered, with compensation aligned accordingly.

This position requires a strong understanding of Ontario health and safety legislation, effective field presence, and the ability to work collaboratively with site leadership and the workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation and enforcement of site-specific Health & Safety programs
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections, hazard identification, and corrective action tracking
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, orientations, and safety meetings
  • Support incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis
  • Assist with permit reviews, JSAs/JHAs, and high-risk activity oversight
  • Ensure compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations
  • Engage workers and supervisors to promote a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports for internal and client use

Qualifications:

  • Local to Southern Ontario (Brantford)
  • Diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
  • Working knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Regulations
  • Strong communication and field engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently in an active construction or industrial environment
  • Proficiency with basic reporting tools (Word, Excel, digital safety platforms)

Preferred:

  • CRSP, CHSO, or equivalent safety designation
  • 5+ years of field safety experience (construction, industrial, or heavy civil preferred)
  • Experience mentoring junior safety staff or leading site safety initiatives
  • Strong incident investigation and regulatory interface experience
