Purpose of Job:



Responsible for the execution of assigned projects related to miscellaneous district projects during summer months.  



Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities:  The following duties are normal for this job.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned as needed.




  • Job responsibilities may include:  mowing, trimming, landscaping, moving furniture, painting, routine maintenance tasks, assistance with textbook processing as requested/needed.

  • Ensure that the use of the district’s resources (time, money, people) are used in the most strategic and effective way possible



Other Duties and Responsibilities




  • Project a positive image of the LSSD at all times and support district goals

  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of district information

  • Support the effective delivery of a high quality of education for all students

  • Provide exceptional levels of professional support and service to staff and public

  • Read and write in English and follow verbal and written directions

  • Work under adverse weather conditions when the need arises

  • May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities

  • Successful completion of Criminal Justice fingerprint/background process and drug screen

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.




  • High school diploma

  • Must possess a valid Tennessee Drivers license with a clean driving record

  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Maintenance Director, Director of Operations, or Director of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable



Abilities/Physical Requirements




  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently, 100 lbs. occasionally and 100+ lbs. with assistance

  • Lift, bend, climb and kneel to complete assigned tasks

  • Able to tolerate heights and work off a ladder or scaffold as necessary
