Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for contributing to the safe completion of PLI earthwork and civil utility projects
  • Operate compact and heavy equipment as required to complete a wide range of projects, including; excavator, dozer, scraper tractor & pans, motor grader, mini excavator, compact track loaders, skid steers, roller compactors, etc.  PLI uses Topcon mm/GPS machine controls for finish grading and efficiency.
  • Working efficiently and in the professional manner expected by PLI
  • Ability to contribute to a safe jobsite yet still meet production goals.
  • Read and interpret survey information, plans, specifications and shop drawings
  • Experience with GPS layout and data collectors is a plus but we will train you if you're willing to learn.
  • Coordinate with material suppliers as needed or dictated by the project.
  • Properly communicate with all project members and create an attitude of teamwork on the jobsites. 
  • Foreman will be responsible for time tracking of self-performance labor crews and equipment and cost coding of invoices and deliveries
  • Manage manpower and equipment resources efficiently over multiple ongoing projects and in communication with peers and other parts of the business.

Job Qualifications: 

  • Experience running a crew of 3 to 10 workers of various skills and disciplines.
  • Must be skilled with overseeing earthwork projects and have relevant project history.  Experience with concrete and site utilities is a big plus!
  • Must have a great attitude and be willing to work hard and set the example for his/her crew.
  • Kansas Drivers License required, Class A CDL with Combined Vehicle and Air Brake endorsements is preferred
  • Pass a background check, pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Enjoys making work fun for his/her crew and subcontractors
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a big plus!
