Job Description

Weekend Acute Care Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to provide independent weekend coverage in our acute care hospital setting.



Schedule:

6-hour shift on Saturday and/or Sunday



Setting:

Acute care only – no outpatient responsibilities.



Clinical Responsibilities




  • Conduct bedside swallow and communication evaluations for medically complex patients

  • Provide treatment and management recommendations

  • Prioritize acute consults appropriately

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Provide thorough, organized clinical handoffs to weekday SLP staff to ensure continuity of care



 






This position may be structured as either a weekend-only employee role or per diem opportunity.

REQUIREMENTS:  



Qualifications




  • Minimum 2 years acute care experience preferred

  • Strong competency in dysphagia management

  • Experience working with medically complex patients

  • Ability to function independently

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, concise clinical handoffs

  • Current state license and CCC-SLP required
