Job Description

About the Department

  • Under general supervision, responsible for the efficient operation of service, traditional and/or prison industry enhancement (PIE) program within a correctional setting for a potential multi shift operation while adhering to our agency mission.
  • Supervise employee/inmate workers screen, select, train and evaluate assigned personnel.
  • Provide rehabilitation and self-improvement opportunities for inmates.
  • Supervise activity within manufacturing operations to maintain a high production volume, ensuring high quality standards.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are maintained and available to workers.
  • Maintain proper preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Responsible for the security of the workplace and to keep area safe for inmates, employees and the public.
  • Serve as a Correctional Officer in maintaining internal security of the plant, inmates, and surrounding  areas.
  • Perform shakedowns and escort inmates as required.
  • Supervise and perform administrative functions as assigned/required.
  • Serve as Plant Manager as needed.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
