Summary of Responsibilities
The Contracts Administrator II is a mid-level position working under the guidance of a Contracts Manager. Responsibilities include proposal preparation, contract administration, and customer interactions to ensure proper contract fulfillment in line with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. The Contracts Administrator II will interpret contract terms and conditions and monitor performance against contract requirements and obligations.
- Under the direction of a Contract Manager, applies skills to manage contracts for various products and services, covering all stages from proposal development to delivery and final closeout.
- Participates in proposal preparation, supports contract negotiations, handles contract administration, and manages customer contact activities to ensure proper contract fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
- Advises management of contractual rights and obligations during negotiations with customers, and recommends actions to mitigate contract risk as part of the business team.
- Interprets contract terms and conditions and monitors performance against contract requirements and obligations during contract execution.
- Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with government regulations during proposal preparation.
- Essential functions include producing contractual letters, narratives for contract changes, participating in contract negotiations, interpreting order requirements and agreements, providing billing support, maintaining assigned contract files, and tracking all internal/external contractual obligations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification
- 3-5 years of functional (using skill set) experience is required
- 1-3 years of industry experience is required
- Knowledge of and experience with Government Contracting
- Knowledge of and experience with Contract Terms and Conditions (FAR & DFAR)
- Previous experience with negotiation process
- Strong oral and written communication skills required
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently when needed
- Financial understanding of rate structures and pricing strategies
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex contractual agreements
