Our company is currently seeking a Storm, Water and Sewer Pipe Layer to support projects in the Columbia/Lexington areas. They are responsible for installing, aligning, and joining storm drainage and sanitary sewer pipes according to project plans and specifications. This position plays a critical role in underground utility construction, ensuring safe accurate placement of pipelines in trenches. 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Install storm water, sanitary sewer, and other underground piping systems, using a variety of pipe materials (e.g., RCP, PVC, HDPE)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job site drawings, and grade stakes to determine pipe placement and elevation.
  • Check slopes and pipe alignment using, lasers, levels, and transits.
  • Cut pipes to required lengths and fit pipe segments together using hand tools or heavy equipment.
  • Ensure proper sealing, and back filling of pipe trenches.
  • Operate or assist in operating trenching machines and other related equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures for confined spaces and trench safety.
  • Communicate effectively with foreman, equipment operators, and crew members.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
