Oregon Coast Culinary Institute (OCCI) offers practical, competitive skills necessary to ensure rewarding career. Students receive individualizes, hands-on learning because of small class sizes. This position assists with the Southwestern campus garden and greenhouse.
*3 to 20 hours per week*
Position Duties
This position assists with the Southwestern campus garden and greenhouse. Duties include watering, weeding, planting, harvesting, composting, and general upkeep with organic methods. Tasks may include assistance with small building projects in the garden, maintenance and organization of tools and supplies. Support and direction will be given by the Agroecology instructor.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be current degree-seeking student enrolled in at least 6 credits.
Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
Must be eligible to receive FWS based on financial need and eligibility requirements determined by FAFSA.
Required Skills/Experience: Students in this job will need the following skills. You should be able to do these, or show that you can learn how (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Desire to work outdoors
- Ability to perform tasks as requested
Preferred Skills/Experience: Gardening experience, basic building skills
