Job Description

Maintenance Technician 

By applying electrical theory and related knowledge, assists engineers in the design, evaluation and repair of electrical equipment.

Job Duties

·         Provide basic technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during and after construction

·         Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments

·         Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define and solve developmental problems

·         Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems

·         Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units

·         Install, repair, modify and upgrade industrial control systems; control systems may be relay controlled, microprocess based on PLC logic (i.e., PLC programming and troubleshooting)

·         Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations

·         Prepare project cost and work-time estimates when needed

·         Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately

·         Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)

·         Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

·         Perform work under direct supervision

·         Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff

·         Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter

·         Typically require accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 0 to 2 years of experience
