Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager to join a busy and evolving aviation precinct environment supporting the delivery of essential infrastructure works across a major airport operations portfolio.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will play a key role in coordinating and delivering multiple projects across different stages, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed timeframes, budgets, and quality standards.
This role suits someone who enjoys working in dynamic environments, is comfortable with change, and can balance structure with flexibility. This role involves coordinating across multiple teams in a complex aviation environment, with a strong focus on collaboration, flexibility, and consistent delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of end-to-end project lifecycle activities including scope, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover
- Assist in managing project budgets, forecasts, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams across active work areas
- Ensure compliance with WHSEQ, regulatory, and contractual requirements
- Maintain project schedules, milestones, and critical path visibility
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with client and operational stakeholders in a live aviation environment
- Contribute to project reporting, documentation control, and updates for leadership
- Support identification and management of risks, issues, and opportunities
- Assist with tendering, contract administration, and subcontractor coordination
- Look for opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Experience delivering projects or asset replacement programs in a similar role
- Exposure to live operational environments (aviation, transport, healthcare, or similar complex settings)
- Understanding of facilities management or project delivery environments
- Diploma or Graduate Diploma in Project Management (or equivalent experience)
- Construction Industry General Induction Card (White Card)
- Strong skills in MS Project, Excel, and project systems (e.g. Procore or similar)
- Clear and thoughtful communication style with strong stakeholder coordination skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively across teams
Desirable:
- Trade or technical background (HVAC, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
- Experience in airport or large infrastructure environments
- Engineering or construction-related qualifications
- Membership with AIPM, Engineers Australia, or similar
Workplace Flexibility
This position is fully on-site within a major operational aviation precinct in Sydney. Due to the nature of the environment and active project delivery, on-site presence is required.
