The Geospatial Data Analytics team provides geospatial analysis and remote sensing data services to both external clients and internal Arup teams working across the built and natural environments. We provide digital leadership focused on the design, delivery and governance of digital technology solutions and services, leveraging our capabilities in geospatial data analytics, information management, enterprise architecture, project management, and emerging technologies.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across Ireland and beyond.

The Opportunity

The role involves delivering high-quality services to a range of prominent clients across Europe. Project work spans diverse areas including the Water, Property, Cities, Transport, Energy and Conservation sectors - where innovative geospatial solutions are essential. Projects will range in scale from local initiatives to those of global significance.

As a Geospatial Analyst at Arup, you will:

Deliver mapping and location-based solutions using ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online to support major infrastructure projects
Build simple tools and automated workflows in Python (e.g., ArcPy, GeoPandas, Rasterio) to speed up data processing and reduce manual work
Collect, organise, and maintain geospatial data by setting up clear data structures and keeping SQL Server databases accurate and up to date
Analyse spatial data and create models to answer real project questions, helping teams make better decisions for planning, design, and delivery
Turn data into clear outputs (maps, dashboards, visuals) and support colleagues with guidance and training on good data management and cartographic standards

Bachelor’s degree in GIS or a related field and 2+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering geospatial solutions
Proven experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online to run spatial analysis and produce standards-compliant maps
Confident Python development skills for geospatial work (e.g., ArcPy, GeoPandas, Rasterio); bonus if you’ve used ML/deep learning tools (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) to solve spatial problems
Good data and integration know-how in infrastructure / built-environment contexts, comfortable with data management and interoperability (e.g., SQL, FME, ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud, CAD/BIM); bonus if you’ve worked with ArcGIS Enterprise SDKs/widgets, automation scripts, or 3D visualisation
Consulting-ready mindset: collaborative, high attention to quality and deadlines, organised problem-solver, clear communicator, able to manage multiple tasks/projects and eager to build strong client relationships
